Naylors’ investment department recently acquired Mountain Express & Wilkinson’s retail stores on Northallerton High Street on behalf of a private investor.
We had a remit from a local client to purchase long term secure and safe investments in the strong Yorkshire and North East market towns or regional centres.
This remit was conveyed to local investment agents as we felt that ‘on market’ opportunities were not suitable.
A friendly, niche practice based in Leeds had good contacts with an agent acting for a client with a retail portfolio where the above property did not fit in for locational purposes.
They approached us as they knew our client had a reputation for performing swiftly and diligently and without recourse to third party finance.
The client liked the property and it’s location, particularly the town, as well as the long leases and covenant strength of the tenant. We inspected and reported, our building surveying team assisted in overcoming a small issue.
The client was very happy with purchase which fitted the criteria of product they had given to us.
