Office Agency secures Gateshead town centre letting

November 2015

Our Office Agency team has secured a significant office letting in Gateshead town centre on behalf of Staghold Ltd. CRI, a leading drug and alcohol treatment charity, has signed up to a 12 year lease on 8,623sqft of refurbished office space.

The office is located within a prominent building at the junction of High Street West and Jackson Street, immediately adjacent to the Gateshead Bus and Metro Interchange.

Our Building Consultancy team were instructed by Staghold, a long-standing client, to refurbish the office suite and common areas following its vacation by former tenants, which led to the re-letting of the space and a further instruction to market the ground floor retail space.

Sam Elliot, Surveyor at Naylors said: “This is one of the largest office lettings in recent years for the revitalized town centre, which is great news for Gateshead. The office benefits from excellent public transport links and close proximity to the new Trinity Square development which provides shopping, leisure and restaurant facilities. Naylors have been involved from lease termination in March through to refurbishment and re-letting of the office space and we are delighted to have been further appointed to let the ground floor retail unit.’

CRI, who are due to move into the new space in December this year, supports around 120,000 people across 160 locations each year on their journey to living lives free from substance abuse. Although the charity has existing offices in the nearby Regent Terrace, its new city-centre premises will enable it to offer treatment in an accessible and easy-to-reach location, potentially benefitting people from across Gateshead and further afield who seek help for drug and alcohol misuse.

Jazz Chamley, Service Manager, CRI Gateshead, said:  “It is important that our services are easily accessible and visible to those who come to us for much-needed support. Our new premises will allow us provide a range of support, all under one roof and on a single floor in an ideal location next to the transport interchange. Following our extensive search of the town centre earlier this year, Naylors were able to understand our requirements and helped identify the property as a suitable option when it came to the market.”
